Catholic Charities - Luther Burbank Family Resource Center
FIRST 5 Programs at Luther Burbank School
Catholic Charities is funded by FIRST 5 Santa Clara County and operates a Family Resource Center (FRC), in classrooms 11 and 12 on the Luther Burbank school campus. It is a centrally located, accessible, safe and welcoming environment where families in the Luther Burbank community can access much-needed support and services to ensure that their children get the best start in life and are successful in school.
Our team includes trained staff and volunteers that offer culturally and linguistically sensitive center-based and in-home services in English and Spanish.
A variety of programs focusing on school readiness, health, and oral language development are offered at Luther Burbank Family Resource Center (LBFRC). FRC Staff offer Parenting Workshops such as SEEDS, Triple P, Abriendo Puertas, 24/7 Dad, and much more. Staff also offers developmental screenings for children ages 0-5 and refer them for further assessments if necessary. Some of the programs offered at the FRC are Zumba Kids classes to the Luther Burbank students, Gardening Adventure Club, Family Knitting workshops, Kindergarten Readiness Classes, Infant Music & Movement, and Music & Movement for toddlers and preschoolers. Families can access community resources and referrals (i.e. health insurance, food assistance, housing resources, employment resources, financial education information, etc.) during Stay and Play hours.
The FRC is open at various times and days to best meet families’ needs.
