Through effective leadership and excellence in teaching and learning, our mission is to graduate all students prepared for successful academic futures and to become contributing members of a multicultural society.

Luther Burbank School District is a one-school district located in an urban, unincorporated area of San Jose, California. We have the privilege of providing educational services to approximately 560 children who live in the neighborhood and out of District. Luther Burbank School operates a unique pre-kindergarten through eighth grade comprehensive program. Also, 50 preschool children attend full day classes, on site, as well in our Child Development Center. Luther Burbank School District is a feeder district to the Campbell Union High School District.

At Luther Burbank School District, the staff, students, and families are engaged in an in-depth pursuit of academic improvement and excellence. Conducted in English, our single track, year-round instructional program is intended to teach each student to read, write, compute, and solve problems at grade level or beyond. We have a no excuses philosophy and are committed to provide each child with skills and confidence to be prepared for high school and beyond.  We work tirelessly to provide our students with opportunities for successful futures.

Our staff and students focus on fully implementing California content standards using aligned materials and research-based strategies. Current state-adopted textbooks and instructional supplies are provided for each student. A strong program of professional development supports student learning.  A weekly early-release day on Wednesday provides time for teachers to plan, prepare and grow as professional educators.

Our district, the school, is the center of a community that values education, and our facilities are used by a variety of organizations. Our classrooms, school office, library, cafeteria, gymnasium, field, and play structures are all well maintained. The district office is on campus, providing personal and timely leadership for teaching and learning. While there are no parks, playgrounds, libraries, or enrichment programs nearby, our school programs are offered from 8 a.m. until 6p.m. daily. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served free to all students everyday.
