Attendance stayed strong across the school in August, averaging 94–97% schoolwide. Fifth grade had a standout week, hitting 100% attendance from August 17–20, and eighth grade held steady between 97–99% all month.
Every school day matters, and we're grateful to families for making that a priority. If your student is healthy and able, getting them to school on time makes a real difference. If attendance becomes a challenge, please reach out early; a quick conversation with the school can go a long way toward preventing bigger issues down the road. We'll keep monitoring attendance closely, with letters going out weekly through October.
Our character trait for August and September is integrity. For students, that means being honest, doing their own work, and making good choices even when no one's watching. At home, families can build on this by talking about honesty, responsibility, and fairness in the small everyday moments as much as the big ones.
Looking ahead, September brings a full slate of community events:
Sept 2 – Back-to-School Night, 5:15 & 5:50 p.m.
Sept 3 – Healthier Kids Foundation wellness checks (TK, K, 2nd, 5th, 8th grades)
Sept 7 – Labor Day, no school
Sept 8 – School Site Council meeting, 5:15 p.m.
Sept 15 – Cafecito, 8:15 a.m.
Sept 15 – Board meeting, 5:30 p.m.
Sept 22–25 – Walden West (5th grade)
Thank you for being part of a school community built on strong attendance, integrity, and real involvement.
