With warm weather expected in San José this week, we would like to remind our school community about the procedures we follow to protect students and staff during periods of high heat. Staff will monitor the heat index and local weather conditions throughout the day and adjust activities as needed.
Depending on conditions, meals, recess, physical education, outdoor events, and after-school activities may be moved indoors. Please review the attached Inclement Weather Guidance for specific procedures at each temperature level.
Families are encouraged to send students to school with refillable water bottles and lightweight, weather-appropriate clothing. Staff will provide regular opportunities for students to drink water and will monitor them for signs of heat-related discomfort.
